Family Secrets (かぞくのひけつ Kazoku no Hiketsu) is a Japanese movie directed by Seitaro Kobayashi.
Plot Summary[]
Kenji Shimamura is a teenager who has developed a fear of intimacy due to his parents long history of fighting over his father's infidelity. When he spurns his girlfriend Noriko's sexual advances she gets offended and he decides he has to find some way to get over his hangups. In order to earn the ¥10,000 needed to get psychological help with his condition Kenji agrees to spy on his father for his suspicious mother.
Kenji discovers his dad is currently dating a young woman named Yukari Osawa, and he decides to tell her the whole story about his father's family life. Yukari is undaunted and applies for a job at the real estate company Kenji's parents run together. She immediately befriends Kenji's mother, which horrifies his father. Eventually the issues between Kenji's family, as well as between Kenji and Noriko boil over in various ways.
