Kikujiro (菊次郎の夏 Kikujiro no natsu) is a 1999 Japanese film written and directed by Takeshi Kitano.

Plot[]

An ex-yakuza named Kikujiro helps a young boy named Masao find his mother. At first he doesn't take the trip seriously, and takes every opportunity to gamble or get himself into other trouble. But when Masao is confronted by a molester and narrowly escapes, Kikujiro starts to feel a little bit more protective of him and decides to dedicate himself to trying to help the boy.
