Plot[]

The story of the Lady Ninja Kasumi films, as well as the original manga, takes place during the Sengoku period - a chaotic time in Japan's history between the 15th and 17th centuries during which constant military conflict between states and political intrigue were the norm. When Kasumi and her little brother are orphaned they are adopted by a warlord. She joins the Kunoichi, a powerful group of female ninjas, in order to protect her brother as well as her newly-adopted clan. When Kasumi investigates the disappearance of one of their spies, she discovers the spy was killed by an opposing clan. In her attempt to exact revenge for the murder she finds herself injured and being taken care of by a young man named Shingo. Her attraction to Shingo is in direct conflict with her Kunoichi code and she is forced to reevaluate her loyalties.
