The 1988 Pink Taishō, which was the first such ceremony, was held at the Kameari Meigaza (亀有名画座) theater on September 17, 1989. It covered Pink films released during 1988. The night's program included a showing of four of the "Ten Best" films of the year: Subway Serial Rape: Lover Hunting (Best Film), Honban onanii: Shigi (Fifth Best Film), and Chikan densha: Ano ko ni tacchi and Lolita Disgrace (tied for Sixth Best Film).[1]
