Sea Without Exit (出口のない海 Deguchi no Nai Umi) is a 2006 Japanese movie based on a Hideo Yokoyama novel and directed by Kiyoshi Sasabe. The film both glorifies and raises questions about the small 1-man kamikaze submarine attacks sent at U.S. ships during World War II.
Plot[]
In 1945 a small Japanese submarine on a suicide mission is attacked by a U.S. battleship. The 4 members of the crew must remain silent after the initial attack to avoid further radar detection, and during this time they flash back to their college days and other events in their lives which led up to this point.
