Toshiharu Ikeda (池田敏春 Ikeda Toshiharu, February 23, 1951 - December 26, 2010)[1] was a Japanese director and screenwriter. He graduated from Waseda University, and started his film career in 1974, working in Nikkatsu's Roman Porno series. He made his directorial debut in 1980 with Sukeban Mafia. He is perhaps best known in the West for his horror film Evil Dead Trap (1988), though some Japanese critics cite Mermaid Legend (1984) as his best work.
