Twisted Path of Love or Lovers Are Wet, Twisted Path of Youth, or Lovers and Wet Sands (恋人たちは濡れた Koibito-tachi wa nureta) is a 1973 Roman Porno film directed by Tatsumi Kumashiro and starring Rie Nakagawa.[1] The Japanese film journal Kinema Jumpo has placed it on its list of the 100 best Japanese films of the 20th century.[2] It was released on DVD in the US in March 2010.[3]

Jasper Sharp notes that Kumashiro mocks the Japanese censorship customs of 1973-- which he considered to be puerile and archaic-- by exaggerating the visual blocking of genitals they required. Note, however, that in 2012, Wikia is far more censorious than was Japan 50 years previous, not even allowing the display of breasts or cleavage, which are labeled "pornographic". Hence, the poster to one of the greatest Japanese films of the past 100 years cannot be shown uncensored in this article. This goes also for hundreds of other such softcore theatrical films.
